3 Things To Keep In Mind When Booking Your Trip To The Masters

The Masters is an annual sporting event unlike any other. To the uninitiated attendee, the planning process can easily become overwhelming.

While there is much to consider when planning a trip, here are three top points to keep in mind:

Number 1: Know the best way in

Known as “the toughest ticket in sports”, there are only 3 ways to obtain badges to the Masters.

- The first way is to be on the Patron List where they are offered to you yearly by the Augusta National Golf Club.  As there are only a select number of these badges currently in circulation, a "waiting list" was created in 1972 and closed in 1978.  In 2000, the list was opened briefly and new patrons were added by random selection.

-The second way in is to try your luck and enter the badge lottery for Practice Rounds and daily Tournament Round access. Getting passes like this is nearly as difficult as becoming a Patron as the tickets & badges awarded by random selection and you're up against a large number of world-wide applications.

- The third and most common way in is to enlist the services of a credible sports travel provider.  It is also the most precarious way as not all service providers or brokers can be trusted sources.

This is the best way to not just procure tournament badges, but plan out every aspect of your trip. Unlike other methods which (at best) only account for access to the event, coordinating your efforts with a company that can customize a travel package will afford you the comfort of knowing that every single one of your needs are met.

Whether this is a personal trip, a corporate excursion intended to “wow” potential clientele, or a way to reward your dedicated employees, every aspect should be planned and accounted for well in advance.

Number 2: Choose the Right Travel Partner

When it comes to working with the best provider to plan your Masters event, you have a choice.

You can either:

-Acquire badges from an unknown source throughout the vast online marketplace and take hope that everything will work out…

Or

You can look to a well-known company with verifiable experience. Your best option is to work with an agency who not only provides sports travel services but specializes in hosting at the Masters.

The right provider will work with you to identify your individualized needs and utilize their extensive network of partners to create a customized package for you.

The right provider will offer a full range of services that fit your budget that includes everything from event access to a full turnkey experience that exceeds your expectations!

The right provider isn't the big-box national brand who offers "cookie-cutter" group travel.  You need to work with a direct source; an Augusta, GA based company that works directly with you on every step during the development of your travel package. A partner who understands and appreciates your vision for this trip as well as your investment.

You may find plenty of options offering a variety of services to attend the Masters Golf Tournament.  But there is only one right choice: Major Sports Augusta!

Number 3: Trust the Professionals

The one thing you should avoid at all cost when planning for your Masters event is trusting the efforts of an un-reputable source.

The success or failure of your trip often turns on the most seemingly unimportant detail. The key is planning your trip with a trusted travel partner who understands that all details are important.

You want professionals invested in your peace of mind and complete enjoyment.  From the moment you arrive into Augusta until the moment when our trained drivers drop you off at the airport for your return flight home, Major Sports Augusta is there with you every step of the way!

A Guide On What To Wear To The Masters

There are many considerations that factor into planning a perfect trip to the Masters Golf Tournament. Beyond your travel plans, the most personal and individualized consideration is your attire!

Finding the correct balance between class and comfort can be a daunting task.  Taking into account weather and itinerary will certainly contribute to the decision-making process.

While the majority of style is left open to personal taste, there are certain core inclusions that simply cannot be left off of your list of requisite clothing.

First, above all else, you have to keep in mind that the Masters is a golf tournament.

As obvious as that may seem, many first-timers can overlook this simple fact and neglect to take into account the amount of walking involved during this week-long event.

In other words… comfortable shoes are a must! Regardless of whether you elect to find a great vantage point to post up for much of the week or follow the leaders from hole to hole, a comfortable pair of shoes is a must-have for any patron who plans to traverse the grounds of the Augusta National.

Trust our advice, the Masters is not the time to experiment with your new fashion foot wear or the toe-pinching loafers you bought especially for this trip. The last thing you want to experience as you embark on this magnificent expedition is the discomfort of sore tortured feet because you chose style over comfort.

Once you’ve decided upon footwear, now it’s time to build your travel wardrobe.

The three C’s to keep in mind as you make your clothing selections are: Class, Comfort and Coordination.

The Masters is legendary in its historic and traditional reputation for very good reason. While comfort should be a major consideration, one can never forget the ubiquitous backdrop of sophistication and class present at every turn.

For the scenic warm spring days in beautiful Augusta, GA, think light, flowing materials that will keep you cool while you enjoy the warmth of a Spring day.  On particularly sunny afternoon, you may opt fo classic styled shorts and a golf shirt.

Intermingle your various pieces with the right accessories like stylish shades, belts and watches or the occasional tie or hat and you’ll be ready for whatever this magical trip might throw your way.

Last but not least, the Springtime weather in Augusta is susceptible to change on a day to day basis.  Make sure you have packed a light jacket or pullover for the days when the wind is brisk & chilly!

But prior to packing your bags, you must first plan your event with a trusted provider who will assist you in coordinating the logistics of your travel program.  You need the services of Augusta based Major Sports Augusta!

Major Sports Augusta is backed by over 18 years experience in hosting clients at the Masters Golf Tournament.  From simple program requests such as event access only all the way to more intricate travel programs for larger corporate groups, their trained associates will guide you along the way.  They become your travel partner from the first phone call through your return home after the Green Jacket presentation ceremony.

A Guide For Your First Time To The Masters

Whether you are rewarding your top employees as part of an incentive program, enticing a potential client, thanking a current client for their continued business or event to check one off your bucket list, there are few events that even come close to rivaling the tradition, exclusivity, and scope of the Masters Golf Tournament!

Considered by many to be the “toughest ticket in sports”, attending the Masters requires precise planning and management from a true professional. Held annually at the historic Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, being at the Masters can be one of the greatest events any golf enthusiast can experience if properly coordinated.

Once you’ve made the decision to make Augusta and the Masters your destination, it is important that every aspect of your trip is properly designed and executed.  The key is choosing the right travel partner to work with.

A common mistake that many first-time attendees make is trusting this responsibility to the online marketplace where you don't have any connection with who's on the other side of the transaction. What you need is a company that not only provides you with guaranteed event access, but one that offers complete travel planning to include premium private home rentals, event transportation and dedicated concierge services during your event.

Beyond those service, you want a provider who will take the time to identify your needs and expectations while simultaneously providing you with a customized travel program specific to your needs as well as budget.

Ultimately you want peace of mind; the comfort and security of knowing that every aspect of your trip is carefully orchestrated and executed by a dedicated professional company based in Augusta who holds your satisfaction as their number one priority.

The Top 5 Greatest Shots In Masters History

While many will debate which shots should make the list of “the greatest ever”, there are a few rare moments that transcend the sport of golf itself, becoming elevated to the ranks of timeless.

Even among the greatest of the great, there are fleeting moments of brilliance, glorious shots that encapsulate the very spirit of excellence and the embodiment of perfection.

Here are five of the greatest shots ever seen at the Masters:

#5- 2010. Phil Mickleson parts the pine from the rough.

Standing on a bed of pine needles off of the 13th hole, 207 yards away from the glory and sitting on a narrow 1-stroke lead; Mickelson stares at the sliver of light between two massive pine trees. Instead of playing it safe and chipping back to the fairway, with a single flawless swing, he sends the ball sailing through that tiny space into the air, landing miraculously a mere 4 feet from the hole. Setting him up for a birdie and sealing the victory for him.

#4-1975. Jack Nicklaus schools Tom Weiskopf and Johnny Miller in living color

For the first time ever, the world got to witness (in Technicolor) the Masters with the birth of the first color televised broadcast of the tournament. With a magnificent 40-foot birdie putt on the 16th hole, the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus, earned his 5th green jacket, ushering in a new era in sports viewership.

#3-2005. Tiger Woods on the 16th

While it would be easy to point to 1997 when a 21-year-old Tiger Woods obliterated the field to become the youngest winner in the storied history of the Masters behind a record-braking 12-stroke victory, claiming his first of 14 major tournament titles. Instead, the honor for his greatest Masters shot goes to the Par-3 16th hole of the 2005 Masters. A beautiful chip-in shot that strolled along the slope of the green before coming to rest at the lip of the hole, linger there for what seemed like an eternity and leaving the viewing public breathless with anticipation, before casually dropping in to seal the win.

#2-1935. Gene Sarazen. The Shot Heard ‘Round the World

In the second Masters tournament ever played, Sarazen sat three shots behind the leader, Crag Wood with only four holes left to play. Then, on his 2nd shot on the par-5 15th hole, with 235 yards between him and the pin. With his trusty 4-wood in hand, he summoned all of the strength that he could muster, and blasted single shot that sailed majestically over the water, bounces twice, and dropped in for a impossible double-eagle.

#1-1986. Jack Nicklaus. The Golden Bear Reemerges.

In his final Masters victory, at the age of 46, Jack Nicklaus broke the record for oldest winner of the Masters when he fought from behind to overtake the likes of Nick Price and Greg Norman with a magnificent birdie putt on the 17th hole to claim the lead and win him his 6th green jacket.  Single handedly establishing his legacy forever.

The next greatest shot can happen at any time and you can see it in person!  Wouldn't you love to say "I was there when..."?  It's never to early to begin planning for an unique sporting event of this nature.  Major Sports Augusta is your most direct local provider with complete travel packages available to meet a variety of travel needs for both groups and individuals.

Why Companies Reward Their Top Clients With A Trip To The Masters

In today’s global market, competition for premium clients is at an all-time high. The space separating Fortune 500 companies from businesses just struggling to stay afloat is shrinking every day.

Success is often determined not by chance, reputation, or even the latest innovation in your industry, but instead by your ability to attract, sign and maintain high-level clientele. A company’s top asset is often its client list. Forged with dedication, creativity and loyalty, these unique relationships are the life-blood of your business.

The most successful companies in the world understand this; they also recognize that the best way to attract and maintain these valuable commodities is by incorporating a dynamic and rewarding incentive program into their promotional policies.

The key is implementing a strategy that maximizes ROI while providing a reward that embodies a spirit of excellence and an experience that separates you from the competition.

Travel incentives are that distinction—specifically Sporting Event Travel Incentives.

There is no sports destination that encapsulates status and luxury and separates you away from the pack like the Masters: the singular event that signals to the world that the golfing season has begun.

Held annually at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club, the Masters is the legendary embodiment of elegance and style as it sits atop the pinnacle of travel experiences! It's the ideal setting to lock a client in for life.

From their pristine course—a gloriously curated scene where no blade of grass is out-of-place—to the legendary Amen Corner featuring the challenging Rae's Creek dancing along before cascading in front of the green and the gallery of patrons waiting breathlessly for every single shot, it's the unabashed reverence for the tradition and splendor of golf in its purest form that makes the Masters unlike any other sporting event in the world.

A trip to the Masters has the unrivaled ability to instill in your top clients a clear picture of their worth to your business and the extent to which you will go to show that appreciation.
